The Scanmaster 6500 is an RGB drum scanner and collects 12-bit data. Additional features include an optical resolution of 50 to 5,000 dpi; two removable drums, 11.5 "x 18.5" and 18.5 "x 24"; 0-3.8 optical density, 10% - 1.667% extension ability; and 14 f-stops. The Howtek ScanMaster 6500 is a production-oriented scanner and is designed for high-volume printers of commercial printers and business people.

The newest SilverFast IT8 with negative scan option "Negafix" is available for this scanner with a new target for supervision and review. The no longer available FireWire option "Ratoc" is also included.

With SilverFast NegaFix® you can professionally and conveniently convert your negatives into brilliant positives. Choose from more than 120 film profiles the right profile for your film, which takes into account both the manufacturer, the exact film type and the light sensitivity of the film. With additional sliders, parameters such as film exposure can then be readjusted manually; in expert mode From SilverFast Ai Studio 8, you can even make every setting yourself to achieve really optimal results. In this way SilverFast NegaFix guarantees you unique control when converting from negative to positive.
A calibratable monitor is available at an additional cost.
