Shade Variation from Gripper to Tail

Hello everyone,

Please help me with your answers for below queries.

1. Many Technicians from reputed Printing machinery manufacturers tell me that you can not avoid shade variation between Gripper to Tail of a sheet even if you set your oscillation rollers to the best.

Is this true ?

2. Is it usual to have mechanical problems if you buy a used Offset Printing machine with Perfector to print Board of higher caliper say 600 microns ?

Hi Manjunath,

First of all which printing press are you printing on?
What is the state of the rollers?
Are there a difference in density from gripper edge to tail?

Facing mechanical problems when printing 0,6 mm cardboard on a perfecting press is dependent on which press you are choosing.
It would not according to my opinion be a problem if you choose f. ex. a new KBA or Heidelberg CX/CD perfecting press.

Best regards
Peter

Thank you Peter for your prompt response.

1. We are using Brand New Heidelberg CD 102 5+L in which we are finding variation from Gripper to Tail. Hdg.Technicians say they can minimize the problem, but can not completely avoid it. How do you avoid this problem ?

2. We want to buy a Heidelberg or Mitsubhishi 102 size press with perfector to print 0.6mm board. What is your advise?

Thank you in advance for response.

best regards,
Manjunath

1. You always will have diffrences but should be not noticable for the human eye. Print a solid measure your density form front to back change your occilation timing until you got what you need.
Also adjust to the image you print maybe you can set the high oint in an area where it does not hurt.
2. The Mitsubishi can no pint 0.6mm most perfecting press going only up to 0.4mm Newer KBA and the HD CD would be a good choice.
